It is another year Gor Mahia will be completing the season with the Golden Boot so near yet so far.

After having a successful goal scoring campaign for most of the season, Gor Mahia's Jacquis Tuyisenge and Meddie Kagere were touted to be the main men to take home the prestigious award.

However, a stellar season finisher by Kariobangi Sharks' danger man Masoud Musa saw the tide shift to the Nairobi Eastlands side, with the latter netting four and two goals in the last two games respectively.

Gor Mahia have been denied the Golden Boot award from back in 2014.

In 2015, they had three hopefuls in Ali Abondo (11 goals), Meddie Kagere (13 goals), and lead scorer then in Michael Olunga (19) but still none got the award.

Tusker FC's Jesse Were stole the show with 22 goals.

This is how this year's campaign ended:

Juma Masoud (Kariobangi Sharks) -17 goals

Meddie Kagere (Gor Mahia FC) -14 goals

Jacques Tuyisenge (Gor Mahia FC) 13 goals

Kepha Aswani (Nakumatt FC) -13 goals

Stephen Waruru, (Ulinzi Stars) 13 goals

Umaru Kasumba (Sofapaka FC) -11 goals
