Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia have once more bagged the bragging rights in their battles with fierce rivals AFC Leopards after pipping Ingwe to the signature of veteran midfielder Humphrey Mieno. The lanky playmaker was among the fourteen players released on Wednesday by 2016 Kenya Premier League champions Tusker Fc.Leopards are understood to have been lining up a deal for the Kenyan international before Gor moved in early Friday with a better deal and have verbally agreed terms with the player and he was expected to put pen to paper later in the day.The latest move by K'ogallo is expected to strain the already 'bad blood' between the two most decorated clubs in the country's soccer history especially after Gor made a move for Leopard's right back sensation Denis Sikhayi.Sikhayi and his defensive colleague Duncan Otieno are understood to have tabled a transfer request to the club in a bid to try and force a move to the arch rivals. The move however angered the club's management and they have since told the pair to apologize in writing vowing not to honour the request.Should Mieno join K'ogallo then he will be the fourth player to do so after Ivorian Ephram Guikan, former Nzoia Sugar midfielder Lawrence Juma and their former striker Kevin 'Ade' Omondi.
