Rampant Gor Mahia extended their lead atop the league table with a 2-0 win against Muhoroni as hosts Kakamega Homeboyz condemned Kariobiang Sharks to their second straight loss in Saturday’s matches.

Gor Mahia could have been a goal up by the sixth minute, but the hawk eyed referee disallowed Meddie Kagere’s goal for offside.

K’Ogalo, however, got their inevitable break in the 40th minute through Rwandan hit man Jacques Tuyisenge, who leapt high to head home a corner delivered by Ugandan Godfrey Walusimbi.

Elusive running striker George “Blackberry” Odhiambo sealed the victory for Gor with 12 minutes left to play after getting the better of Muhoroni custodian Salim Sowedi in close quarters.

The win extended Gor’s lead atop the league table to four points.

Kariobangi Sharks’ quest to bounce back from Wednesday’s defeat to Zoo Kericho came a cropper as they suffered a second consecutive loss.

Wycliffe Opondo capitalised, on the Sharks’ poor defending on 24 minutes to hand Homeboyz into the lead.

Masoud Juma, however, got to the end of a counterattack just nine minutes later and finished the move off with a calm shot past goalkeeper David Juma to restore parity in the game.

Jeremiah Wanjala regained Homeboyz the lead in the 87th minute heading in captain Ali Bhai’s well floated free kick.
