Despite pipping bitter rivals AFC Leopards to clinch the annual Kenya Premier League Super Cup on Sunday, Gor Mahia tactician Dylan Kerr was left fuming at the match's centre referee whom he accused of open biasness.
Gor silenced the marauding Leopards 1-0 in a thrilling encounter staged at the Afraha Stadium thanks to a towering header by team captain Haron Shakava in the 40th minute.
However, a dejected Kerr slammed the day's centre referee Peter Waweru accusing him of among other things denying his team two clear penalties and punishing them at will while pardoning their opponents.
"This was a derby but we kind of controlled the game, though the field was not very good. I, however, have to talk to the referee because I am not happy with his performance; every little infringement he penalized but in our case he let it go! We should have had two penalties in the first half but he didn't call them out," Kerr said.
The 'Mashemeji Derby' as it is popularly known had its fair share of drama that was characterized by hard tackles and stormy exchanges between players resulting into the booking of a number of players from either side.
Godfrey Walusimbi and Humphrey Mieno were booked on the Gor Mahia side while Salim Abdallah and Collins Okoth represented Ingwe on the referee's book.
