KPL Champions Gor Mania are hopeful that attacker George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo will sign a new deal with the team as his current contract expires at the end of this year.'Blackberry' played huge role in Gor Mahia's 2017 Kenya Premier League 2017 and the club's CEO Lordvick Aduda has said he is interested in renewing the attacker's deal. CEO Lordvick said talks are at an advanced stage and will be finalized shortly after the Festive season. He added that he is hopeful that the player will renew the contract. "Talks are at an advanced stage. We broke for Christmas and after that we will finalize the negotiations. Everything looks positive and we at hopeful he will agree to extend his stay with us," he said according to Futaa.com. Mr. Lordvick also hailed Odhiambo saying he was one the best players of Gor Mahia in 2017. He concluded that Gor Mania being a big team would want to retain big players so as to maintain the lead in the subsequent seasons. "Odhiambo was one of our best players in 2017 and we are happy that he's rediscovering his form once again. At Gor Mahia we want to have the best playing unit around and as such we have to retain good players like Berry," he added. A number of foreign clubs including Albania's FK Tirana are thought to be interested in the Kenyan international who was also part of the Harambee Stars team who won the 2017 Cecafa Senior challenge
