Gor Mahia legend Allan Thigo has taken a swipe at the recent Kenyan Premier League awards gala in Nairobi.

Thigo described the exercise as flawed as it did not make sense to those using the season's statistics.

He took issue with the awards presented to Zoo FC midfielder Michael Madoya who scooped four awards even as he maintained he had nothing personal against the youngster.

"How can one player get four awards? Impossible! He can be the MVP, best midfielder and others but you cannot be almost everything. I am not being sarcastic and neither am I biased against any player but I am just stating facts here. He is not even in the national team or being scouted by the so-called big clubs so it means there is something wrong and people should be objective," he stated.

"A big club like Gor Mahia which won the league with a big margin has no better player? You then decide to give the team manager the award and leave players who are the playing machine. We have to keep thinking and doing what is right," he added.
