Gor Mahia skipper Musa Mohammed has expressed his elation after being handed the same role by Harambee Stars head coach Paul Put at the Cecafa senior challenge tournament.
The veteran defender who recently won the Kenya Premier League (KPL) title with K'ogallo was once more handed the national team armband when Stars opened their regional campaign against Rwanda last Sunday and he says it is such a honour to earn the rare feat.
"This was my second time captaining the national team and it is a great honour. The first time I wore it was some time back in Machakos and to do so in such a tournament is a great honour", he told sports website, Soka on Tuesday.
Mohammed was outstanding as Kenya went on to dispatch a wobbly Rwandan side 2-0 in their opening match.
He has however called for more efforts to ensure ensure that the very results are achieved in the next fixtures.
His role at Stars is however on a tentative level considering that the Cecafa bonanza tends to bring on board local players alone and as such, Victor Wanyama who is the bona fide Stars captain is ineligible to participate and steer the team.
