Gor Mahia captain Harun Shakava has warned bitter rivals AFC Leopards to brace for a grueling battle when the two sides meet next Tuesday in a friendly match to determine who will play English Championship side Hull City in the inaugural SportPesa international friendly.
Speaking to SportPesa News on Friday, the Kenyan international rallied his teammates to bag the bragging rights once more against a team they have beaten in their last three recent encounters when they meet at the Afraha Stadium.
"My first victory against the rivals was when I captained Gor in the Sportpesa Super Cup final at Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania last year. We won 3-0. We managed to beat them 1-0 in the Super Cup contest in January 2018. I'm glad to have scored the solitary goal in the match. My aim is to find the back of the net again on Tuesday," Shakava said.
The defending champions have a tight schedule that will see them play second-placed Mathare United on Sunday before entertaining Ingwe on Tuesday before flying out to Rwanda for their Caf confederations assignment against Rwandese giants Rayon Sports.
Shakava, however, exuded confidence that the Dylan Kerr side is equal to the task and would give their best in each battlefront.
