Gor Mahia is expected to play against Equitorial guinea in Machakos on February 10. The game comes after Machakos County boss Dr. Alfred Mutua has lifted a ban imposed on the club three years ago. The governor took to his Facebook page to share the news following a lengthy discussion with different stakeholders in the football sector.

The meeting was attended by a team led by the Chairman and renown lawyer Ambrose Rachier, The C.E.O. Mr. Lordvic Aduda and the Treasurer Ms. Sally Bolo. The governor said that the team convinced him that the management has put in place measures to address hooliganism and other weird behavior that led to the banning of the club three years ago. The team has been granted permission to play its games in the county following the new development.

"We have agreed that Gor Mahia FC can now play its Premier League matches in Machakos and use our stadium as their home stadium. Their first game will be an international game against Equatorial Guinea on February 10, this year,” he wrote.

The county boss also revealed that he has received a token of goodwill that will be used towards the construction of the stadium, which was destroyed following chaos in 2014. The governor has shown his commitment to supporting different football clubs during his second term in office.
