Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia are set to complete their third signing of the season after agreeing to terms with Kakamega Homeboyz over their centre-half Charles Momanyi.
A statement from Homeboyz chairman Cleophad Shimanyula on Friday revealed that Momanyi has been set free with the club to agree on his personal terms with the 16-times champions who will be representing the country at the continental scene early 2018.
"The offer from Gor Mahia was too good for the player to turn it down and as Homeboyz we have already released him so that he can complete the transfer. At Homeboyz we don't stop players from leaving if they believe they are okay with the offer on the table," said Shimanyula as quoted by goal.com.
Momanyi is currently on duty with national soccer team Harambee Stars in the ongoing Cecafa senior challenge tournament but is expected to finalise the deal in the coming days.
Other players who have also signed for K'ogallo include former striker Kevin 'Ade' Omondi and Ivorian sensation Ephram Guikan who is expected to jet into the country on December 26 to sign the contract.
Gor will be representing the country in the CAF confederations in March 2018 and have been pooled alongside little Equatorial Guinea side Leones Vegetarianos in the preliminaries.
