A total of seven matches will be played on Sunday, with the weekend’s major fixture being top of the table clash between 2008 Champions Mathare United against 16-times and defending Champions Gor Mahia.

The match will be played on Sunday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, starting 4.15PM.

Gor Mahia head into this fixture perched at the top of KPL table with 26 points after playing ten games, winning eight and managing a draw in two fixtures.

Francis Kimanzi led Mathare United are second with 23 points, after having played 12 matches so far. The slum boys have lost two consecutive games against Poster Rangers and debutants Wazito FC.

Last season, Gor Mahia won a record 16th KPL title but one of the major un-doing for Kogallo’s season was losing both the home and away fixtures against Mathare United.

United won both fixtures 1-0 when the teams met on April 30, 2017 and later on October 14, 2017, when Kogallo were leading the KPL table while Mathare United was 13th on the log.

Gor Mahia has won three league matches and drawn one in the last four, while Mathare United has won two and lost two in the last four.

Kogallo is unbeaten in the league this season and will seek to extend the record when they visit the slum Boys.

Possible lineups. Mathare: Mboya, Owino, Olwande, Owino, Omurwa,Omondi, Seda, Oduor, Nyakeya, Mwangi and Alwanga. Gor Mahia: Oluoch, Onguso, Onyango, Shakava, Wendo, Otieno, Mieno, Kahata, Odhiambo, Kagere, Tuyisenge.

Predictions: Mathare are at home but Gor Mahia are highly likely to win the match. For those betting, placing a goal-goal or a win for Gor Mahia will be the best option.

Editor's note: Betting is a game of probability and putting a stake on the teams above does not guarantee a win.
