Gor Mahia has welcomed the decision by Machakos county government allowing the team to play at the Kenyatta Stadium.
This is after the team was banned from the venue due hooliganism.
According to Gor Mahia treasurer Sally Bolo using Machakos will help the team cut on expenses.
"Machakos stadium is appropriate because we will reduce on expense at this time when things are hard financially. It will cost the club a million shillings to play in Kisumu - we have flight tickets, accommodation and other expense," Bolo told the club portal.
Initially, Gor considered Bukhungu as an alternative ground for their continental matches but that could have proved costly as they would have been required to foot their opponent's travelling and accommodation bills. Bukhungu is also not a CAF approved ground yet.
