Gor Mahia Youth crushed Slum Dwellers 3-0 to sail to the Chapa Dimba finals slated for next weekend at the Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.
By whipping Kamukunji, the K’Ogalo junior side emerged as Nairobi boys’ champions and will relish the challenge that awaits them in Kakamega when they take on tougher oppositions.
K’Ogalo broke the deadlock in the 17th minute via Otieno Sellassi who added the second in the 37th through a swiftly taken penalty kick.
Onyango Alpha then put the icing on the cake, scoring the third goal to seal the win. Gor coach Matero Aziza could not hide his excitement after the game.
“I am very impressed with the today’s game and I know my boys won’t disappoint me in the finals,” he said.
Gormahia youth team received a cash reward of Sh200,000 and will now proceed to the national finals set for March 22- 25 at the Bukhungu Stadium, while the Golden Boot and the Sh 30,000 cash award that came with it went to Gor’s Otieno Sellassi.
Matthew Mwendwa also walked away with Sh30,000 after he was picked as the Most Valuable Player.
The overall winner will receive Sh1million and an opportunity to go for an international training and mentorship camp in London
