Gor Mahia will have to do without the services of defender Godfrey Walusimbi, after he refused to board the plan to Tunisia for the return leg of the CAF match against Esperance.
According to reports, Walusmbi refused to board the plane with his teammates, demanding his accrued salaries and allowances.
According to Goal.com, an official fo the club confirmed this, meaning the team will be ‘a man less’ for the return leg.
“We persuaded him (Godfrey Walusimbi) to travel but he insisted that he wanted the money owed to him by the club paid in full. We have now been forced to travel to Tunis for the return leg without his services,”
The team will qualify for the next round if they register any scoring draw of mastermind a win.
They will, however, he haunted by the memories of the 2014 season when they lost 8-1 on aggregate to the Tunis-based club.
Other players who did not travel with the team include strikers Kevin Omondi and Ephraim Guikan, who were left out due to injuries.
