The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash between Zoo FC and 2017 champions Gor Mahia has found a new venue.
The November 5 match had earlier been planned for the Kericho Green Stadium but will now be staged at Nakuru's Afraha Stadium.
According to the league managers, the change was occasioned bysecurity concerns from the current political heat in the country.
Here is a statement from the league effecting the change:
"RE: RE-LOCATION OF ZOO vs GOR MAHIA MATCH FROM KERICHO TO NAKURU
"Following consultation with OCPD of Kericho and his security team, we have been advised to move the above mentioned match, scheduled to be played on Sunday 5 November 2017, elsewhere owing to the volatile security situation in the area. The Kenya Police Service is an institution which offers great support to our operations and based on this advise, we are left with no other choice but to re-locate the match to Afraha Stadium, Nakuru.
"Date and kick off time will remain as per the earlier schedule i.e Sunday 5 November 2017 at 3pm."
The letter was signed by KPL C.E.O Jack Oguda.
In their last meeting, Gor defeated Zoo by a solitary goal scored by Kenneth Muguna.
