Gospel artiste Loise Kim has called on well wishers and Kenyans in general to join hands and support Solai families.

Speaking on Sunday at St.James Catholic Church at Energy area in Solai, the gospel artiste said a time has come to put a halt to the food donations and cloths and now shift focus to construction materials.

“I think we now need to shift focus from food stuffs donation and clothing to construction materials. I therefore urge Kenyans that let us support this family to construct,” Kim said.

Similar sentiments were echoed by one of the owners of Best Lady Kenya Beauty Company who had also brought donations to the families affected by the killer dam.

According to Kuria, the families need more than just food donations or even clothing hence3 Kenyans should listen to the cry and assist them to settle.

“We have listened to them narrate their stories and they say they need more than just food. They mentioned land, construction materials,” he said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto on May  16joined Kenyans in mourning the 47 victims of the Patel dam tragedy.

During the service, President Kenyatta said the government will continue to support flooding victims across the country.

The Head of State also pledged to issue title deeds to the occupants of the expansive Nyakinyua land, where most of those affected by the Patel dam burst live.
