NSL league leaders Vihiga United overcame the odds on Sunday when they beat Tusker in their GOtv Quarter Finals encounter staged at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Starting from a shaky style, the Edward Manoah side gained ground and slotted a goal in either half to hand Tusker their exit ticket from the tournament whose winner represents Kenya in the Continental Confederations Cup.
Charles Okwemba scored the opener from the spot in the 24th minute after Mieno handled in the area to clear a corner kick.
In the second half, substitute Dennis Lugalia capitalised on Tuskers poor defence and drove a powerful header past Tusker custodian Dunncan Ochieng in the 86th minute.
Their win now sails them to the semis where they will meet AFC Leopards who humiliated Wazito FC 7-1 in the other quarter final played at the same venue minutes later.
