Marsabit Governor Ukur Yatani has claimed that his political rival was behind an attack on his motorcade at Dambalafachana by a group of goons.Yatani said the goons were supporters of his opponent Mohamud Ali.The governor's motorcade was stoned on Saturday night while he was leaving a political rally in Moyale Town."The attack was unfortunate and was as a result of the work of a coward, someone sensing defeat for the second time," said Yatani."Such acts can take us back to the dark times of ethnic clashes. The police should take charge and arrest the goons," he added. In a quick rejoinder, Ali dismissed the claims, saying he neither organised the goons nor felt a sense of defeat.
