A group of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) drawn from Kisii county has accused the National government of neglecting them.
The group has accused the State of selectively compensating the victims of the 2007 post-election violence.
Led by John Ochoi who is also a victim the IDPs said that they know of many people who have already been compensated and yet some of them haven’t been compensated.
“The government has ignored some of us and yet we were affected during the post-election violence and we want to know why others have been paid and others left out,” he added
Speaking at Kisii county hall, Ochoi said they would like the government to explain the procedure which they followed to compensate and why they haven’t received their compensation eight years later.
They urged the county government to make a follow up on their case.
