Persons living with disability have a reason to smile in the next financial year this is after the national Government announced to allocate extra 100 million in their kitty.
Speaking in Nakuru on Tuesday during a donation presentation to people and institutions hosting people with disability, Administrative Secretary in the Executive office of the president, Clement Kiteme said that the government will provide an addition of 100 million to the 200 million that was allocated in the last financial year.
According to Kiteme, the addition will aid in catering for the growing needs of the organization as well as ensure expansion programmes that are taken by the organization across the country.
“The current government through the next budget will ensure that the organization will be able to achieve all the projects that give aid to such people” he said.
According to Kristina Kenyatta Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, the additional funds will help to complete the projects started by the organization.
This will help empower people living with disability from all the parts of the country.
During the occasion, individual persons, special schools, special units and centres catering for Persons with Disabilities received assistive devices, tools of trade and cash grants during the occasion.
