Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked the Jubilee government to take security matters seriously and ensure safety of Kenyans and their property.
Addressing worshippers at AIC Kithyoka Church in Masinga sub-county, Machakos County on Sunday, Musyoka said that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure Kenyans are safe.
Muysoka accused the Jubilee government of laxity in curbing security threats in some parts of the country.
“The government has a responsibility to ensure its citizens are safe from internal and external threats,” said Musyoka.
The Wiper Party leader said that the government has enough mechanisms to address insecurity, adding that time has come for President Uhuru Kenyatta to take tough action on government officials sleeping on the job.
Musyoka indicated that most of the country has been turned into a slaughter house where innocent lives of Kenyans are being taken.
On the same note, Musyoka called on the government to withdraw the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) from Somalia.
He observed that KDF have overstayed in the war zone country without yielding much and that they would be rather used to guard Kenyan borders.
The former Vice President observed that most Kenyan borders especially in Eastern and North Eastern area porous, a situation that has seen criminals and terror agents roam the country freely.
He said that protecting the country’s borders will be a big boost in the fight against terror activities.
Musyoka at the same time said that the opposition led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will not keep quiet as the country is being plugged into warfare.
