The government does not issue any operating licenses to people operating the Chinese gambling machines that are littered in every corner of Kenya.

Rift Valley regional commissioner Mongo Chimwanga said that the Chinese gambling machines are operating illegally and should be confiscated.

Speaking during a public Baraza in Nakuru west sub-county, Chimwanga said that there is no license issued by the government.

He called on chiefs and their assistants to work with members of the public in identifying where the machines are operating from and arrest the operators.

“There is no license given by the government to operate those machines and because you know where they re you need to help the chiefs in closing down the joints,” he said.
