The government has been called upon to ensure that they probe the cause of the accident that claimed over three students from St Mary’s Nyamagwa secondary school in Kisii County.
According to some of the parents whose children were involved in the accidents, it was hurting that the students were allowed to ride on a bus that had not even been inserted with number plates which is wrong and dangerous.
Jasper Makori a parent whose child was injured said that all they want is for the government to quickly probe the cause of the accident and also compensate the families of those who perished in the Friday morning incident.
“We are having a feeling that the bus was not well serviced before it was brought for the children to ride on and we want the government to feel the missing questions we have in mind,” he added.
The accident caused a stir on Friday morning after the girls were apparently enjoying a ride in their newly acquired bus when the accident occurred, at the same spot where 20 students lost their lives in different road mishaps in July 2013.
County Governor James Ongwae who arrived at the scene moments later pledged to ensure the sharp bend on the road was fixed and promised to facilitate treatment for casualties.
