According to the citizens who spoke during the International Street Children Day, they accused the government of failing to account for the money.

Led by Joel Machuka he said that the government has not done enough in helping the street children.

“My concern as a citizen of this country is the money that was allocated in aid of helping street children of this county, particularly to the county of Kisii where we have seen more children in streets without any measures taken into consideration,” said Machuka.

In addition, he accused the county government of Kisii for failing to construct a rehabilitation center for the street children as it had promised the residents.

“The county government of Kisii promised to build a rehab center at Kiamwasi but that has not happened," said Machuka.

"It will be better for the county to come out clear and let residents know what went wrong,” added Machuka.
