The national government has reaffirmed its commitment yo ensuring erg citizen has access to quality and affordable health care.Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki says the Jubilee government is keen on ensuring citizens access universal healthcare within the next five years."We will collaborate with the county governments to ensure that health facilities are fully equipped and have improved infrastructure, equipments and hardware," said the CS on Thursday during a familiarization visit at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret town."We want the health facilities to offer quality and not quantity health care services. Our aim is for resident to get service without travelling to urban centers for the same," she added. Kariuki who was recently transferred to the Health docket further asked health worker's unions to always engage the government through comprehensive dialogue before embarking on strike which she said was a threat for country's health sector."I want to urge the union officials to make it a habit of dialogue in case they have a problem rather than going to the streets.
