A Kisii based Criminologist Harrison Munyoro has attacked the government of filing sensitive reports of areas likely to cause chaos ahead of the 2017 elections as outlined in the NCIC report.
He said such information should be confidential since it is sensitive and should only be accessed and used by the right authorities to ensure peace ahead of the elections.
He argued that such messages carried in the report raise political temperatures and animosity among different tribes ahead of the 2017 elections.
“How would someone file such a report and release it to the public. This is very risky for a nation that is healing from the dirty 2007 post-election violence,” he said.
He said such report put tension and suspicion among people from different regions of the country.
“Such a report causes tension and suspicion splitting the country into tribal lines," he said.
“The report should have been used by the government without having to be released to the public. This is a big failure on the part of the government," said Munyoro.
