The government has declared Tuesday, November 28, 2017, a public holiday.
In a gazette notice dated November 23rd, Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i said this will allow Kenyans to attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"It is notified for the general information of the public that, in accordance with the provisions of section 12 (3) of the Assumption of the Office of the President Act, 2012, Tuesday, the 28th November 2017 shall be a public holiday," reads the gazette notice.
Kenyatta will be sworn in at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi after being declared the winner of the repeat presidential election held on October 26.
