The government has gazetted October 26 a public holiday.

This was done to give Kenyans enough time to participate in the repeat presidential poll.

Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi communicated of the holiday to the public even as there remains speculation that elections will not be conducted.

Earlier, Raila Odinga pulled out of the race saying that the election environment was not clear to offer a free, fair and credible exercise.
