The cabinet meeting held in Naivasha concluded that the government would not start new projects if the ongoing projects have not been completed.
The retreat, which was chaired by President Uhuru Kenyatta for three days, made decisions to stop new projects because the budget was quite involving. The members present opted to use the money the Jubilee government has to finalise the already running projects.
The president had asked the cabinet secretaries to implement all Jubilee projects saying the projects were critical to his re- election with his deputy, William Ruto.
This comes a day after Statehouse clarified through its spokesman, Manoah Esipisu that it intends to use all the resources it has to complete all the running projects before the next general elections. This could mean that the projects which have not started will be abandoned.
At the moment, the ongoing projects are the standards gauge railway, free health equipment for the counties and the laptops for class one pupils.
