Maseno University students have issued the government with a five-day ultimatum to pay the lectures and bring the dons strike to an end failure to which they will conduct a mother of all demonstrations.
The students cited that they were ready to learn and the lectures strike was derailing their studies.
"We are giving the government five days to pay the lectures so that we can embark to our studies. We want to learn and graduate and move on with our lives. The ongoing lecturer strike is really affecting our studies. We are really taking much time to complete a single semester.
"If the lectures are not paid within five days we are going to demonstrate in unison with our lectures," Humphrey Otieno a 3rd year student said.
The students said they had waited for long hoping that the lectures strike would come to an end but nothing was forthcoming.
"We thought now that there is national unity in the country this issue will be sorted out quickly. We are tired of waiting. We want to get back to classes as from Monday," Esther Achieng another student stated.
