Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria is a person of interest in the death of IEBC's ICT manager Chris Msando, government spokesman Eric Kiraithe has said.
During a Wednesday press briefing, Mr Kiraithe said Kuria should apologise over a Facebook post he made, claiming that the IEBC manager was “enjoying sweet time with a woman”, after he was reported missing.
Msando’s lifeless body was on Monday found in a thicket in Kiambu.
“Moses Kuria is a person of interest and I can assure you that no one will escape. Moses Kuria should apologize,” said Mr Kiraithe.
Kuria, after Msando’s death, pulled down the Facebook post.
He yesterday said he will not apologise over his remarks.
"I owe nobody any explanations. The media and social media are not part of the police and I refuse to be dragged into this political circus. It will be an exercise in futility... what will happen after explaining myself to you?" said Kuria in an interview with The Standard.
The lawmaker’s remarks angered Kenyans, who demanded that he should be grilled over the brutal murder.
