According to the Kisii county residents who spoke to us on Mondays at Kiamabundu area Kisii Central ward, they said that they are going to benefit from the project since it has been hard for them to raise Sh35,000 for the connections.

Dodwell Ombiro is one of the residents who spoke to us, he said that by reducing the cost many Kenyans will apply and be connected with electricity.

“From my side it is a friendly cost and I hope many people are going to be connected with electricity since the reduction is almost half of the money that Kenyans used to pay before,” said Ombiro.

This comes after Deputy president William Ruto visit to Kisii county at the weekend where he announced the reduction of the fees.

According to Deputy President, the program will be effective as from early next month.
