Residents from Kitutu Chache North Constituency in Kisii County have hailed the government for re-launching the Youth Service Empowerment Programme.
According to them, the re-launch of the program by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week in the area will help youths get some cash which will boost them.
Jane Nyachama is one of the residents who said that the initiative will help youths develop through their savings which will enable them to start up various projects.
“This is one of the ways our government has created jobs for our youth. We hope that the money they are going to get from this program they will develop themselves by initiating some projects by themselves,” said Nyachama
Nyachama added that due to the program, she hopes that many youths who have been idlers are no longer idlers since they have some activities which they are doing hence they should be busy.
Robert Nyangeri, also a resident hailed the government for the program as they will be living without fear since most of the youths now they have what to do.
“When you have many youths in the area who are jobless sometimes we live with fear but now we are happy since they have been engaged through this program,” said Nyangeri.
