Kiambu County leaders have vowed to block Kabete Constituency by election until the government establishes people behind former legislator’s death and culprits brought to books.
Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Kikuyu MP, Kimani wa Ichung’wa, urged the government to act fast and establish people who killed Muchai.
“We will make sure that campaigns will not start in Kabete until the National Government identify people behind Muchai’s death. I am sure his family and his soul will be at peace once justice is done,” said Ichung’wa.
“I know Muchai’s case may be forgotten like many other assassination cases which has happened in Kenya. But we are urging the government to act and bring to books the people behind his death as soon as possible,” reiterated Ichung’wa.
Ichung’wa said that it is unfortunate that in Kenya leaders get assassinated while perpetrators walk free.
He further urged Labour Cabinet Secretary (CS), Kazungu Kambi, to name people behind Muchai’s death. Labour CS had during Muchai’s burial said he knew people who killed the legislator.
Ichung’wa added that days are gone when leaders got assassinated and their killers remain unknown.
