The national government has been lauded for showing justice in the country by arresting and detaining the eight MPs over hate speech.
The eight have been in custody from Tuesday.
According to Kisii county residents, the government has done something that can never been forgotten in the history.
Addressing the press in Kisii town on Friday, Patrick Bikundo who led other residents said it is good for justice to continue being served in the country regardless of the parties involved.
“We are happy for what the government. Arresting leaders who were propagating hate speech in the country was a good call. We need peace in our country always,” said Bikundo.
Residents proposed the government make sure it fulfills what it said by amending the law that may hinder the leaders who use hate speech from contesting any elective post the country.
“Let the government not stop taking action on any individual who uses hate speech in our country,” said Jadson Ongeri, another resident.
