The government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has offered advice to Kenyans intending to work in foreign countries.
Speaking today during the unveiling of Kenyans held behind bars in South Sudan for over 2 years for allegedly defrauding the South Sudanese state, Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Monica Juma advised Kenyans in foreign countries searching for work to get in touch with the ministry or foreign missions.
Ms. Juma contended that doing so would help the government have a sense of where they were and also be able to give them advice.
''We ask Kenyans intending to work abroad to get in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to avoid problems in future. It is for their own good to do so.'' The Foreign Affairs PS said.
The release of the four Kenyans came after President Uhuru Kenyatta's intervention.
