A nearby canteen seller, Mary Mwende was first to see the bees which then followed her as she ran screaming.

This attracted the attention of employees in the other offices who quickly called the fire and rescue team.

What was meant to be a source of honey became a plague that everyone was avoiding. Those in bright colors faced the wrath, as bees seemed to identify them from afar.

A crowd of residents stood at a far to witness how the rescue team would handle the bees. They splashed water with high pressure at the bees, but they bore no fruits so they opted to use smoke.

Moses Waruku, a rescue team member lit a tyre which produced smoke and bad odour to chase the bees.

A resident, Joy Wanjiru was not happy that the bees were chased away, but was of the opinion that the bees would have been kept for economic benefits.

The fire and rescue team put up a strong fight, some even getting stung, but managed to chase away the bees.

It was a great relief for passersby and the civil servants who had been in their offices beyond working hours. They were delighted with the quick response of the team to the call of duty.
