An assistant chief from Bowando Sub Location in Nyamira County has called upon the government to help him renovate or give him alternative building for perfect execution of his duties.
The administrator, John Orina, said he was working under immense fear given the poor conditions of his office that may collapse any time. He said he is fearing that his life is in danger.
“I work in those buildings with enormous fear. It is quite a perilous place to work since it can collapse any time given its condition,” he said.
He said that he is compelled to work by manoeuvring from one village to another to execute his responsibilities and government duties since the place was no longer habitable.
“In most cases, I move from one place to another. I cannot risk my life by sitting in the premises,” he added.
According to him, moving from one place to another all times is exhausting. He is appealing for urgent support from the government to ensure his execution of duties is not hampered.
“I would like the government to refurbish the place or give me an alternative place to ensure my duties are not affected,” he said.
His remarks have been supported by many area members who also asked the government to find him an alternative to avoid further sabotage of vital government responsibilities that lies in his docket as an administrator.
