The Mombasa County government will partner with private security firms in the Coastal city during the electioneering period to enhance surveillance.

County Commissioner Evans Achoki says the government will provide police officers to private security firms to accompany guards during their patrols. The announcement comes in the wake of increased crime targeting cash transfer shops in the town.

Achoki says private security firms play a vital role in supplementing state security surveillance, and as such the government will partner with such firms during this electioneering period to ensure peace and security prevails.

And with the rise in crime in recent days targeting cash transfer shops in the Coastal city, Achoki urged the managements of public and business facilities in Mombasa County to install Close circuit Television CCTV systems to enhance security surveillance.

Achoki put on notice criminal gangs that have been accused of terrorizing residents that their days are numbered.
