Politicians found inciting Kenyans to oppose development projects will be arrested and prosecuted, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has said.
The CS said residents of Bonyunyu in Gachuba ward whether they like it or not Bonyunyu dam must be constructed in the area.
He said the dam will help locals get plenty supply of water to end water shortage.
"Bonyunyu dam will help locals in Nyamira and Kisii County to have plenty supply of water. Politicians inciting locals to oppose the project will be dealt with accordingly,” he said.
Matiang’i stated that only three families will be affected and not all residents as claimed by hate mongers.
"The dam will only cover land belonging to three families. The families will be compensated by the government to have the families settle down,” he noted.
He was speaking on Friday at Kebirichi secondary school in Kitutu Masaba constituency Nyamira County.
