The Kenyan government has taken great offence in the travel advisory issued by Britain to her citizens who live in the country and those who intend to travel to Kenya.

British citizens were advised to take caution in the country and avoid areas where violence is likely.

The head of public service Joseph Kinyua termed the advisory ill-advised.

''I think it was ill-advised because the fact that maybe others may say they want to have something else does not mean that that will translate into any insecurity at all.'' Kinyua told reporters at the Kasarani Stadium.

President Uhuru Kenyatta will take the oath of office next Tuesday in a public ceremony that world dignitaries are expected to grace.

NASA will go ahead with a rally at Uhuru Park.
