The Kenyan government is in the process of introducing a raft of measures that will go along way in reducing road carnage at the notorious Salgaa stretch.That is the assurance given by the Transport Ministry through its Principal Secretary John Musonik.Speaking to the media yesterday in Nairobi at the Transport Ministry offices, Mr. Musonik revealed that the tender for inproving the deadly stretch had already been advertised by the Kenya National Highways (KenHa).The Principal Secretary who presented himself before the parliamentary Transport Committee the construction of a dual carriageway would begin this year in May.''Plans to improve that stretch of the road are in overdrive and we expect work to begin this year in March. The tender has already been advertised by KenHa for the project,'' the Principal Secretary secretary.His words come in the context of mounting concern over the frequency of road crashes and the attendant loss of lives.
