Speaking during a church service at AIC Inland church in Eldoret town on Sunday, Ruto said that the government will not condone corrupt leaders.

He said that the government has put in place measures to curb corruption and deal firmly with individuals implicated in graft.

“The government is serious on corruption and will take stern action against those implicated in corruption,” said the Deputy President.

Ruto said that corruption is a disease that poses a threat to socio-economic development and urged the public to help curb the vice.

He said that the public must report individuals who demand bribes so that the law can take its course.

At the same time, the Deputy President denied claims that the government is interfering with independent constitutional bodies mandated to fight corruption.

He said that constitutional bodies will work independently adding that they must work to curb corruption and other vices.

Ruto added that the government will provide all the necessary machinery to fight corruption and crime.
