The National government has set measures which will improve agriculture sector across the county more so in collaborating with counties.
Speaking at Kisii on a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor, the Principal secretary for Livestock Dr Andrew Tuimur said that the government has set resources which will boost the agriculture sector more so in the livestock department.
He added that the 60% of diseases which affect human being comes from animals hence there is a need to address the matter.
Dr Andrew also noted that the government will help in tagging animals for easy identification.
“We have measures in which we need to help our livestock so that we can have good products from it for instance we need to end diseases which are affecting them, tagging of animals will curb cattle rustling,” said the PS.
Following the current DP president William Ruto sentiments when he visited the region about the introduction of milk cooling plant, the PS said that the process has been finalised.
Maang'i also said that the Liquid Nitrogen plant will help farmers to have good breeds of livestock.
Later the PS met with women groups under the Smallholder dairy Commercialization Program SDCP.
