As the world marked the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Kenyan government has committed to upscale the anti-illicit brew campaign.
Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery has warned that a crackdown against illicit brew will be conducted in major towns within the country.
Nkaissery said the government intends to begin the fresh round of raids in western Kenya.
The CS said cheap illicit liquor is greatly affecting young people's lives and the government has up measures in place to curb drug abuse and trafficking among youths.
He at the same time warned all chiefs and administration officers to ensure that their areas of jurisdiction are free of illegal brews warning that those who fail to enforce the law shall be fired.
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was celebrated on Sunday.
