Deputy President William Ruto has said his government is determined to expand technical institutions for students to gain technical skills.

Ruto added that youths should pursue technical courses for them to be job creators and bit seekers.

"We have set aside Sh15 billion for the expansion of existing 80 technical institutions and also setting up of sixty new ones country wide," he said.

Speaking at Maili Tisa on Sunday, Ruto said the new Technical colleges will be set up in Moiben, Ngeria, Kipkabus, and Turbo.

"We have already one hundred Million Kenya shillings for the construction of Cheptabach Youth Polytechnic and the construction will soon commence," he said.

He added that the National Government through the Ministry of Education is coming up with a plan to ensure secondary day school students study for free.
