Just a day after Kenyans were treated to the push and pull between self-proclaimed NRM general Miguna Miguna and security officials at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the state immigration department has finally broken its silence.
In a letter posted on the Immigration department twitter page, acting director of immigration Mr Joseph. P. Munywoki said they have already dispatched officials with relevant papers fro Miguna to fill so that he can reclaim his citizenship which purportedly lost in 1998.
"To enable Miguna regularise his citizenship status, the Department of Immigration has this morning dispatched the requisite application forms to JKIA for Miguna to duly fill for processing," reads the letter in part.
Munywoki said the theatrics by Miguna was uncalled for since he was supposed to cooperate with the immigration officials by providing his VISA instead of insisting on a national ID card.
"Instead of presenting the requisite travel documents he had exited with from Canada Miguna became unruly and threw tantrums saying he was a Kenyan who should be allowed to enter the country without immigration clearance is required of all arriving passengers irrespective of their nationality," he added.
"Instead he showed his ID card and demanded that he be immigrated on the strength of the ID which is only acceptable when traveling from the Northern Corridor of the country," he said.
