The executive is fully behind the new law that will allow governors appoint new deputies in case of resignation or death of one.
Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa said that the executive is happy the senate is drafting a law that will give county bosses such powers.
when he officially opened the senate leadership workshop in Nakuru, Wamalwa said the government supports the new law and asked the Senate to fast track its passage.
“The government is in full support of the senate in regards to the new law they are working on which will allow county governors to appoint new deputies in cases of death or resignation,” Wamalwa said.
He cited Nairobi and Nyeri counties which have no deputy governors saying that it has to some extent affected service delivery in the two counties.
