The Treasury has returned Deputy President William Ruto's idle cash in public listed companies after he made a claim.

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA) had taken over Ruto’s unclaimed cash from telecoms operator Safaricom after he failed to collect dividends accruing from his shares in the company.

The law requires companies to hand over to the State different categories of idle assets whose owners have not claimed for up to five years.

According to Business Daily, the DP's name is missing from the latest register of those whose assets had been transferred to the authority.

UFAA August report revealed that Ruto's name was among those of top politicians whose idle assets had been ceded to the authority.

The State had already taken over unclaimed assets belonging to Lucy Kibaki, Daniel arap Moi, Kalonzo Musyoka, former US President Barrack Obama father among others.
