Cabinet secretary in the Ministry of East Africa Affairs, Commerce & Tourism Republic of Kenya Phyllis Kandie has said the government is going to construct elderly centers in Kisii, Kirinyaga and Nyeri counties to take care of elderly people.
Kandie said in those three counties there is high discrimination of elderly people and the government is going to construct their centers to take care of them.
Speaking on Thursday in Gusii stadium during the celebration of the International Day of Elderly Persons, Kandie called on residents to respect elderly people in various societies to receive plenty of blessings from God and to have good future.
“Since the government has noticed that discrimination to elderly people in our societies is high more so in Kirinyaga, Kisii and Nyeri counties the government is going to construct elderly centers which will be used to take care of them as soon as possible,” said Kandie.
